A Lonely Dinner for One...

...and hungry, since there's not much food around here. I'd say I'm not nearly finished with this set yet. I really like the lyre bits (upside-down, of course, 'cuz I liked it better this way), but I don't think the dark walnut stain is working in the room with the lighter tone of the trim and baseboards. Either a different stain, or a paint color of some kind??? Chair seats need pads too - just trying to decide on a fabric. The plates are teenie Chrysnbon plastic ones which I hope to paint or apply a paper printed plate design onto...and of course food and many other details are needed for the room - soooo much work to do:-)

I really like the result. At the end you're able to win out over small pieces of chairs :-)
You know, it's not bad that there is little variety between the various color tones of the walnut: is more credible.
The table is so beautiful too: with poor food, brings out the beauty of each piece.

It might be a little difficult to lighten up the stain on the chairs and table but I think the darker color adds warmth to a room with a light, hard surface floor. In real life, you would not match the furniture to the trim, yes? Use fabric complementary to the wallpaper for the chair cushions and then see how you like it. Table decorations and more food will also make a difference there. I'd not yet fuss with the stain color or paint them just yet..

Personally I think it all looks great. I agree with all the things Tabitha said. When you add the cushions to the chairs it will make a big difference.

I think some of Chrysnbon's pieces are a little bit smaller than 1/12 scale. That has never stopped me from using them. I love their kits. Using their silverware with thier dishes makes their plates look in scale I think.

Congratulations on 101 Followers!

I like the walnut stain! It's a nice contrast with the lighter colors; it's like wearing an accent of lipstick! I think you may like it better once chair pads are on.
